The Ground Zero Memorial in New York City

Ground Zero in New York is the exact location of the 9/11 terrorists attack and former site of the World Trade Center. About the World Trade Center

The World Trade Center was a complex located in the heart of the New York financial District consisting of seven buildings. Most notably the landmark twin towers, 1 World Trade Center (the North Tower) and 2 World Trade Center (the South Tower). Once the tallest buildings in the World, the twin towers tumbled to the ground as a result of terrorists attacks on September 11, 2001.

9/11 Memorial

The 9/11 Memorial opened to the victims’ families on September 11, 2011, the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, and to the public on September 12, 2011. The Memorial features the names of the 2,982 victims etched into bronze panels. The 9/11 Memorial Plaza is a beautiful green space tribute with reflection pools with cascading water features, and is filled with oak trees and the lone surviving pear tree, known as the Survivor Tree.

Tickets are required to visit the WTC Visitor Center. The prices are as follows

Are there tours available?


9/11 Memorial tours are offered daily beginning at the Tribute Center along the south side of the World Trade Center. The tour includes a brief history of the WTC, the attacks, and the 9/11 aftermath. Each unique tour is guided by a 9/11 survivor, worker who assisted in the recovery efforts, lower Manhattan resident, or family member that lost a loved one and offers personal experiences of survival, loss and healing.
